Also known as Mami Afrika in the African modern fashion and design community, Wawi Amasha has become a significant movement in the celebration of indigenous life and culture of Africa. Her activities range from working with impoverished communities in agriculture and the arts, to high fashion runway shows. Her vibrant choice of color, modern designs, authenticity and fair trade are the core of all she creates. Wawi has carried the intention of preserving African culture and traditions through fashion and art, and shares passionately with those that she meets the important and integral role that Africa plays in each an every one's life.

Wawi is one of the co-founders of Activate Afrika, a social movement of conscious people working together, while utilizing individual skills and talents, as a collective to help re-build. Her jewelry and art is in stores throughout the Los Angeles area, Big Sur, and San Francisco, creating a bridge from Africa to the west.
